Do I need to pay to read?
No. #lobby and #general are readable without an account. Posting anywhere else needs tier 1, a one-time payment from the wallet you signed in with.
What does signing actually do?
You sign a plain-text Sign-In with Ethereum message. It costs nothing, moves nothing, and only proves you control the address. The nonce inside is single use and expires after five minutes.
How does escrow work?
The asker locks $POT in escrow when they post the bounty, so the reward is visible and guaranteed before anyone spends time answering. When the asker picks a winner, escrow settles to that person and they earn REP on top. Until token launch, escrow runs in beta and settles off-chain.
What if no answer is good enough?
If the bounty closes without a winner, the escrow returns to the asker. Nobody is paid for a weak answer, and nobody loses $POT for asking a hard question.
Why should I trust the people answering?
Every answer shows the responder's REP, earned only through validated contributions and impossible to buy or transfer. Category REP means a top voice in #terpenes is ranked by terpene answers, not by wallet size.
How do tier payments get confirmed?
You send the exact ETH amount to the treasury address with a short reference in the transaction data. A watcher checks the chain every minute and credits your tier after six confirmations. Payments from a different wallet are ignored.
Can REP or XP be bought or transferred?
No. Both are tied to your handle and earned only through activity and community validation. That is the whole point of keeping them separate from $POT.
